India's strong reply to Shahbaz Sharif's peace talks at UN. (X)
India-Pakistan: India responded swiftly and sharply to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's allegations at the UN General Assembly forum. Indian diplomat Petal Gehlot stated that Sharif's presentations were factually inaccurate and misleading, and directly refuted Pakistan's counterclaims regarding Operation Sindoor.
Petal Gehlot described Shahbaz's speech during the assembly as dramatic and "absurd." She stated that lies and drama cannot hide facts. She cited the April 25, 2025, incident in which Pakistan attempted to protect a Pakistan-sponsored organization at the UN Security Council. Gehlot stated that Pakistan's history of supporting and exporting terrorism is a long-standing truth, and such a country has no right to preach morality at international forums.
Petal Gehlot also said that India has photographs and evidence taken during Operation Sindoor, including images of terrorists and affected hideouts killed in Bahawalpur and Muridke. She said that public praise and tribute of some terrorists by senior military officers of Pakistan is also on record. At the same time,She also informed us that in early May, Pakistan itself was threatening more attacks on India, but after May 10, the army appealed to stop the fight. Gehlot argued that this contradiction and policy confusion describe the real state of Pakistan.
India clearly stated that if Pakistan truly wants peace, the path is clear. Patel Gehlot stated directly that Pakistan should immediately close all its terrorist camps and hand over terrorists wanted by India. In her words, there will be no discrimination between sponsors of terrorism and terrorists. She emphasized that India will not allow terrorism to flourish under the guise of nuclear blackmail, nor will it bow to such threats.
At the same time, Shahbaz Sharif, in his UN address, accused India of attacking Pakistani citizens and armed forces and forcing Pakistan to respond. He also raised allegations of adjournment of the Indus Water Treaty and a treaty violation by India. Shahbaz also made an emotional appeal on the issue of Kashmir and said that Pakistan is with the Kashmiri people.
This conflict once again shows that rhetoric and diplomatic confrontation between the two sides remain pungent. It is important to keep a close eye on the situation when the allegations and counter-allegations on the international stage, like at the UN, are intensified, as the statement directly affects both diplomacy and boundary stress.
